Our Labor of Love

The first hole in the wedding industry Whitney noticed was very large and human-shaped..  Photographers had been capturing wedding photos since the invention of the camera because people love to reminisce. There was a certain level of artistic expression missing in those images, though. His partner had been shooting weddings to support herself in art school, and she was only making two hundred bucks a pop. Whitney saw her art, and wondered why it wasn’t making more money, why her vision wasn’t translating to weddings. He built her a website to showcase her art. At the time, wedding photography websites were not a thing. There were business sites, but none that truly exhibited the art. When the site went live, the inquiries went from zero to sixty, and in one month they had booked out an entire year of weddings. Given this modest show of faith in their skills, they founded Our Labor of Love.  Whitney and his partner dedicated their work to bringing an experimental and artistic bent to documenting their clients’ happiest days. They hired many skilled artists to work alongside them, and helped those artists bloom. Whitney has shot over four hundred weddings, and Our Labor of Love has now shot over twelve hundred and counting.
